Youth Ministry

Sunday School

Sunday School at Grace is held every Sunday during our worship. After the Children’s Sermon, all attending kids are sent down to our Sunday School wing with our volunteer teachers to learn a Bible lesson and do an activity, and are brought back up to rejoin their families during Holy Communion.

Kid's Cafe

Kid’s Café, Grace’s after-school program, is each week on Monday evenings. Our participating youth enjoy a meal, learn Bible stories and the Small Catechism, and have fun with different crafts and activities. We are very proud that we have a regular group of both youth participants and adult volunteers that have continued to make this program a success. Thank you to all whose work helps share the love of Jesus with our young people!

If you know any elementary or middle school age children attending Sawyer or Gwinn schools whose families would be interested in this program, please contact the office (906-346-3156office@graceingwinn.org) or Pastor Jack (715-660-8956pastorjack@graceingwinn.org).

Additionally, if you would like to participate as an adult volunteer, either helping to prepare the meal or lead group activities, please contact the office or Pastor Jack.

Matthew 19:13-15

13 Then children were being brought to him in order that he might lay his hands on them and pray. The disciples spoke sternly to those who brought them, 14 but Jesus said, “Let the children come to me, and do not stop them, for it is to such as these that the kingdom of heaven belongs.” 15 And he laid his hands on them and went on his way.

Feeding America

Grace Lutheran Church periodically hosts Feeding America Mobile Pantries, provided to us by Feeding America-West Michigan. Our members help fund each Mobile Pantry and volunteer to unload the Feeding America truck and distribute it to those who come through the line. All are welcome to come and receive food – no money or identification is needed.

Check our Facebook page and the Feeding America-West Michigan website to find our next Mobile Pantry date and times!

Social Outreach

Our Social Outreach Committee organizes a number of ministry projects throughout the year. They organize Health Kits for Lutheran World Relief, raise money for Lutheran Disaster Response, support and keep in contact with our baptismal families, and put together monthly Meal Kits for families in need in the Gwinn and KI Sawyer area.

If you would like to contribute or help with any of these projects, or if you have a ministry project that our Social Outreach Committee may be interested in, please contact either our office (906-346-3156, office@graceingwinn.org) or Pastor Jack (715-660-8956, pastorjack@graceingwinn.org).
